We were so happy to have Carl back again at our clinic for his follow up on his All-on-4 dental implant treatment. He was with us in November for a combined treatment of crowns and All-on-4 implants. This time he got some adjustments and still is very satisfied with his new wonderful smile.

We hosted the 8th Live Implant Surgery Maxicourse in Cancun!

We would like to share with you some of the amazing things dental implant events we do in our dental clinic. Last week we had the visit from a dozen American dentists that were eager to train under Doctor German Arzate and Doctor John Minichetti‘s supervision to learn the most advanced dental implant techniques. This is the 8th time we have hosted this important course in Cancun.

Together with the AAID and the Dental Implant Learning Center on Englewood, New Jersey, we look forward for students to gain experience, fine tune their skills and help people in need in Mexico. We benefit over 50 people in need of new teeth, and place over 100 implants over the course of 3 days. Doctor German Arzate got to share his experience and expertise on implant dentistry along with Doctor John Minichetti, an eminence on the field.

Cancun has an amazing assortment of hotels and resorts for all kinds of preferences and all-inclusive hotels are one of the favorite picks for them; they will just hang back and rest on the pool or a hammock, enjoying the ocean breeze. The hotel zone is a huge collection of hotels, restaurants and vibrant entertainment… on the other hand Puerto Morelos might the most well kept secret of Cancun and its surrounding area.

Located just 20 minutes from Cancun, Puerto Morelos is a small beach town. Starting only as a fishermen’s village its close location to Cancun eventually allowed it to grow on its own accord. Puerto Morelos is very different from Cancun and even Playa del Carmen, the crowning jewel of the Riviera Maya.

Puerto Morelos still keeps the atmosphere of a small town where one can enjoy life at its own pace. How can I clean my All-on-4 dental implant teeth?

One of the most common questions we get when people look for All-on-4 in Cancun is if they will be able to clean their all-on-4 dental implants like normal teeth or if they will need to do something in special. We are always happy to explain the details to our patients. To start off, we must remember your new teeth will actually be mounted on a strong screw retained titanium bar. The bar and the “fake teeth” will be done from a wax copy of your own mouth so they will stay in place without moving.

Now, there are people that claim these types of “implant dentures” do not work because even though they might be a perfect fit, some food debris might still get into some crevices and will lead to gum disease or other problems. What they don’t tell you is there are ways to clean the “inside” without doing a complete maintenance of your teeth. For this you will be using a water irrigator, also known as water flosser. This is a small device that pumps out a stream of pressured water to clean places in your mouth where the toothbrush and regular floss cannot get. In fact, water irrigators are so good we also recommend using them even if you still have all your teeth. They do an excellent job getting rid of the biofilm and the plaque build up around the base of the teeth.

Using the water flosser will help you prevent complications with food debris whether you have All-on-4 implants, regular implants or even porcelain crowns. Besides your normal brushing it is recommended to use the water irrigator once a day before going to sleep.

How to choose the right All-on-4 provider!

Whether you are planning to get All-on-4 in Cancun or somewhere else, there is a guideline you should follow before you make your final decision for your dental treatment. One of the most important things to remember is that sometimes low ethic dentists will offer a treatment called “All-on-4” but in truth is just a knock off. We will talk about this below, but first lets get started with the obvious:

Experience: A dentist who performs All-on-4 must have great experience under his arm. We are talking years of experience with all kinds of dental implants. For example, Doctor German Arzate has 20 years of experience using dental implants for complete smile makeovers.
Certification: Any dentist looking to perform this procedure should have a Nobel Biocare certification. In fact, Doctor German Arzate learned directly from the author of the technique at Malo Clinic. There are very few dentists that count themselves as lucky to say the same.
Implants: The implants for this treatment MUST be Nobel Biocare. There is no question about it. Before you accept doing this procedure, ask confirmation that they are using Nobel Biocare original implants. All-on-4 Happy Patient: Joseph!

We had an amazing case of All-on-4 a while a ago with our dear patient Joseph. He came from Texas and he wouldn’t have thought a single visit to Cancun would change his life like this. He had brought his lovely family along and it was a privilege to have them here at the dental clinic.

Things to do in Cancun during your dental Vacation!

It’s been a while since the last time we talked about things to do in Cancun while you are waiting for your All-on-4 smile. Unless the doctor forbids you something specifically because of your case, you should be able to enjoy many if not all the attractions in Cancun. Usually, the only instance when activities are dissuaded is when you get a sinus lift or right after placing dental implants with IV sedation because you won’t be on the condition to do strenuous activities. On this occasion we would love to suggest two things.

First, the newly created “Xenses”. Xenses is park part of the Xcaret group, who have several other thematic parks like Xoximilco (traditional mexican party), Xcaret, Xelha (the largest aquatic ecological park in America), Xplore (extreme jungle adventures).

Xenses seeks to challenge your senses and your imagination like nothing has done before. Are these All-on-4 really permanent teeth?

It’s no wonder why some people confuse the term permanent as if it meant a “lifetime”. We always clarify to our patients that permanent means fixed, as in you won’t have to put in and off your new teeth like you would do with regular dentures or even Snap in Dentures (here you can check more information about this treatment). The titanium bar with the teeth is mounted over the 4 implants and screwed in tightly to kept it securely in place. You would need to understand nothing last forever, our teeth and bone inevitable decay. Your All-on-4 is made with the best materials (same FDA approved from USA) and we use the best implants for the procedure: Nobel Biocare implants, which are the only implants scientifically proven to give successful long term results for patients.

Do you have a lifetime warranty?

You need to know we offer a 5 year warranty in all our dental pieces, so if by any chance one of your dental implants becomes loose, you must save it and bring it over to our clinic and we will set a new implant to replace it.

You say one All-on-4 bridge with implants is $12,500 USD. Are there any additional expenses linked to this procedure?

The original price is meant to also include 4 teeth extractions and local anesthesia. Any additional expense will depend on the state of our mouth when you come to get your treatment.
